Research Assistant for the Bristol Wearable Computing Initiative

Bristol University and Hewlett-Packard's European Research Laboratories are collaborating on a programme investigating wearable computers. Wearable computers are general purpose, unconsciously portable computing platforms with uncompromised usability, integral support for broadband communications, media capture and media consumption. The partners are concerned to understand the future form of personal computers given the trends towards increasingly portable devices, pervasive communications technology and the merging of consumer and computer markets.

The successful applicant will contribute towards programme strategy, will have responsibility for day-to-day supervision of undergraduate projects and undertake research within the programme. He or she will have a broad outlook and experience across both hardware and software areas.
